*These jurisdictions have adopted the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE), in which the MEE is used as the essay section.

Notes:

  • Illinois currently uses the MEE, but will switch to the UBE format on the July 2019 exam.
  • Maryland will begin using the MEE sometime in 2019 (the exam date is still to be determined and will likely be the July 2019 exam), as part of its recent adoption of the UBE.
  • Ohio will begin using the MEE on the July 2020 exam, as part of its recent adoption of the UBE.
