All MPT jurisdictions use 2 MPT questions per exam, except for the jurisdictions noted below.

Notes:

  • Mississippi uses only 1 MPT question per exam.

Important Note for July 2026 Exam:

* Starting with the July 2026 bar exam, the following jurisdictions will transition to the new NextGen Uniform Bar Examination (NextGen UBE) format and will no longer use the MBE, MEE, or MPT sections as part of its bar exam:

  • Connecticut
  • Idaho
  • Maryland
  • Missouri
  • Oregon
  • Washington
  • Guam
  • Northern Mariana Islands
  • Palau
  • Virgin Islands

Please see our study guides for the NextGen UBE if you are taking the July 2026 or February 2027 bar exam in one of the jurisdictions noted above.  Those NextGen UBE study guides are expected to be released in Spring 2026.
